Privacy Policy — Unstuck
Last updated: 27 June 2026
Unstuck (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an independent music-production app. We care about your privacy, and we have built the app to collect as little as possible: Unstuck has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and shows no ads. We do collect anonymous diagnostics and anonymous product-usage analytics, used only to fix bugs and decide what to improve. Details below.
What we collect
No personal information. Unstuck does not ask for your name, email, or any account. There is no sign-up and no login, and we cannot identify you.
We collect two kinds of anonymous data:
- Crash and performance diagnostics (via Sentry) — if the app crashes or hits a performance problem, a report is sent so we can fix it. These include technical details such as the error type, device model, and operating-system version.
- Product-usage analytics and session replays (via PostHog) — anonymous information about how the app is used, so we can understand which features help and what to build next. This is described in the next section.
Neither is linked to your identity, and neither is used for advertising.
Product analytics and session replay
To improve the app, we use PostHog, a product-analytics service. It collects:
- Usage events — anonymous records of actions in the app, such as opening the app, viewing a screen, saving a tip, or starting a session.
- Text you enter into the app’s tools— when you submit a problem in the “Start a Session” feature, or send feedback through the in-app feedback prompt, the text you wrote is included with the related event so we can understand what producers are stuck on and what they want. Please don’t enter personal or sensitive information into these boxes — they are intended for music-production problems and feedback only.
- Session replays — anonymised recordings of app screens and interactions, used to see where the app is confusing. All text fields are masked in these recordings, so what you type is not visible in the replay itself.
- Basic technical and device information — such as device type, operating system, app version, and a randomly generated anonymous identifier that lets us count distinct installs. This identifier is created by the app, is not the advertising identifier, and is not linked to your name or any account.
This data is anonymous, is never used for advertising, and is not sold or shared with data brokers or ad networks. You cannot be identified from it.
Data stored on your device
Some things the app remembers are stored only on your device and never sent anywhere. This includes:
- the tips you save,
- your current session / track,
- your day-streak and momentum counts, and
- whether you have seen one-time prompts (such as the rating and feedback prompts).
This information is held in your device’s local storage. If you delete the app, it is removed with it.
Network and tracking
The app sends data off your device in only these ways:
- App-update check (Expo) — on open, the app asks our update service whether newer app content is available, and downloads it if so. This sends no personal information and is not used to profile you.
- Crash diagnostics (Sentry) — as described above.
- Product analytics and session replay (PostHog) — as described above.
The app contains no advertising, uses no advertising identifiers, and does no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.
Sharing tips
When you choose to share a tip, the app creates an image on your device and hands it to your operating system’s standard share sheet. You decide where it goes (Messages, social apps, etc.). Unstuck does not send or receive anything in this process.
Children’s privacy
Unstuck does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The anonymous diagnostics and analytics described above contain no personal information and are not used to identify or profile any individual.
Your choices
Because the analytics are fully anonymous and tied only to a random per-install identifier, we cannot look up or delete an individual person’s data on request. Deleting the app stops all future collection. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what we collect, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that version is released.
